New City Church LA | Serving @ LA Pride 2025

Basic Info

Our New City congregation will be handing out water bottles to LA Pride attendees next Sunday! We will meet at 10:00 AM in front of LATC and then take public transit to the LA Pride parade at Hollywood & Highland.

Secondary departure time: 10:30 AM (15 minutes later for those who are punctually-challenged 😜)

What to bring

  • Your New City t-shirt

  • Personal water bottle

  • Sunscreen + appropriate attire to protect against the sun

  • A willingness to serve, love, and celebrate with those who are celebrating!

  • Add any rainbow and pride flair to your shirts, but we'll also have pins and flags!

  • A TAP card with at least a $3.50 fare to take the Metro B Line to Hollywood and back (more info below)


Itinerary

10:00 AM: Meet in front of LATC.


10:15 AM: Start walking to Pershing Square Station. We will be leaving on time.

(The second group will leave 15 minutes later.)


10:20 AM: Arrive at Pershing Square Station


Taking the LA Metro:

  • You must have a TAP card to board. You can purchase a TAP card at the Metro station kiosks, which costs $2.00… OR you can download/use the TAP app to load fare.

  • While discounts are available, the regular fare is $1.75 each way. This means that going to the LA Pride stop and back via the LA Metro will be a $3.50 fare per rider. 

  • Contact New City staff if you need assistance.


10:45 AM: Board the Metro B Line (Red Line) towards Hollywood.


11:15 AM: Exit the Metro B Line at the Hollywood & Highland stop, and start walking to Urban Masala on Hollywood Blvd


11:25 AM: Meet near Urban Masala. Enjoy the festivities and be ready to hand out water bottles to anyone who might need them!


Once we arrive near Urban Masala on Hollywood Blvd, feel free to stay as long as you like! When you need to head back, go to the Hollywood & Highland Station, take the Metro B Line back towards Union Station, and get off at the Pershing Square stop. 

FAQ

What if I am late arriving at LATC?

If you miss travelling with our initial group, we will have a secondary group leaving 15 minutes later. If you miss both groups, please take public transit to Hollywood & Highland via the Metro B Line.


Who is bringing the water bottles for distribution?

Pastors Anthony & Lynda will be bringing water bottles in coolers. 


Will we be travelling back to church together?

Once all our water bottles have been handed out, feel free to explore and enjoy the parade (or go have lunch with others) and return home safely!
